Livingston County Health Center would like to announce a “Safe Sitter” class being held at their office on Friday, October 24th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  October 24th is a regularly scheduled day off from the Chillicothe R-II district.

The Safe Sitter program has operated since 1980 with the promise of providing medically accurate and developmentally appropriate curriculum that is interactive and engaging for all participants. Students learn how to practice important safety skills, handle emergencies, care for children, and how to treat illnesses and injuries. In addition, students learn important business skills, including how to screen jobs, set a wage, and work with employers.

The class will be the Safe Sitter Essentials class with Pediatric CPR Certification. This program is designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they are home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Students will be Pediatric CPR Certified upon completion of the course.

There is a fee of $25 to attend the class and registration is required, with a deadline of Wednesday, October 22nd.  Those interested can register online at https://www.livcohealthcenter.com/safesitter, or pick up at form at 800 Adam Drive in Chillicothe.  Lunch will be provided.
