Breastfeeding Peer Counselor

The WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor at the Health Center is Shelby Hayes . She has successfully breastfed her children and will be happy to answer any questions you may have about breastfeeding.  As a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor, she provides personal support and education to mothers to ensure the best chances of a successful breastfeeding experience.

Prenatal Breastfeeding Class

The Health Center offers a bi-monthly Prenatal Breastfeeding Class. If you are thinking about breastfeeding, we encourage you to attend this informative class, designed to help you prepare for breastfeeding or help you make the choice in feeding your child. 

 

Topics Covered include:  Benefits of Breastfeeding, Positioning, Breast Care, What to Expect After Delivery, Going Back to Work, and Pumping.  Contact our office at 646-5506 to find out the dates for the classes. 

Breast Pumps Available

The Livingston County Health Center has hospital grade breast pumps available for use on loanFor WIC clients the pumps are available at no cost. They may be used as long as the client is in need of them and once finished they must be returned to the Health Center.  

 

We also have pumps available to the general public for a one time fee of 50.00.  The pump may be used as long as needed.  Since we do not have a large number of these pumps we do ask that once you no longer need the pump that you return it as soon as you can.
