FOOD SAFETY
People often take the safety of their food and water for granted. LCHD inspects all county restaurants, taverns, grocery stores, motels, school cafeterias, licensed daycares, and senior citizen centers. We test water samples from private wells and investigate private sewage complaints.

Food Code
The State of Missouri has adopted a new food code. One of the new changes is that opening a new food establishment or doing extensive renovation to a food establishment now requires written approval by the regulatory authority. The regulatory authority for this approval in Livingston County is the Livingston County Health Center, 800 Adam Drive, Chillicothe Missouri 64601, 660-646-5506. The application shall be submitted within (30) calendar days before the date planned for opening or renovating. The application shall be completed by an owner or officer of the legal ownership.
