keeping the next generation safe & healthy

Providing safety education and activities to
help prevent farm-related injuries among youth

Progressive Agriculture Safety Day is the largest largest rural safety and health education program for children in North America. The program provides engaging, hands-on lessons designed to teach children ages 4–13 how to recognize hazards and make safe choices at home, on the farm, and in their communities.

The Livingston County Health Center is proud to join Progressive Agriculture Safety Day Foundation and collaborate with school administrators and community partners to bring this valuable educational opportunity to local youth. The program was introduced in Livingston County in the fall of 2024, reaching 350 elementary students. Following a successful first year, this event is now offered annually to all fourth-grade students throughout Livingston County, helping equip the next generation with important safety knowledge and life skills.

Safety Day addresses topics such as:

Grain bin safety

Seat belts

Large equipment safety

Fire safety

Water safety
