Walk-In Flu Shots Tuesdays & Thursdays

Livingston County Health Center has announced the availability of walk-in flu vaccinations on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. No appointment is necessary.

Both high dose and standard quadrivalent (protection against four strains of influenza) vaccines are available.

High-Dose contains four times the antigen, the part of the vaccine that helps your body build up protection against flu viruses, than standard-dose flu vaccine. The higher dose of antigen in the vaccine is intended to give people 65 years and older a better immune response to vaccination, and therefore, better protection against flu.

Those interested in being vaccinated for influenza can walk in on any Tuesday or Thursday to receive their flu shot. No appointment is necessary.

The CDC recommends everyone 6 months and older be vaccinated against influenza by Halloween, for optimal coverage of the traditional flu season.
