Child Health
Your Child's Health is Our Concern...
If you’re a parent, keeping your child healthy is probably one of your top concerns. At the health center, it’s our job to prevent disease, promote health and protect from injury.

We strive to meet your child's health needs through programs addressing health education, nutrition, physical activity, development, immunizations, screenings and general health.

Please take time to tour this website and find out about which services are offered for your child's age group, and feel free to call our office at 646-5506 for more information.

LEAD TESTING
The Health Center offers free lead screening for Medicaid recipients through the Missouri Department of Health State Laboratory for children six years of age and under. A $10.00 fee is charged to those not on Medicaid. If your child is exposed to conditions that might make him at greater risk for lead poisoning, call the health department at 646-5506 to find out more.

CHILD CARE HEALTH CONSULTATION (CCHC)
In collaboration with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, Livingston County Health Center offers child care consultation and training to area child care providers.

Health Center nurses provide consultations regarding child health and safety issues at licensed and license-exempt child care homes, group homes, and centers such as Head Start. We also provide health promotion presentations for children in the facility.

The health center offers six inservices at no out of pocket cost to help child care providers achieve the 12 hours of continuing education credit required for state licensure.
